To my wonderful prayer partners,
Thank you so much for all the prayers, cards, calls and support. We are all truly being carried on the wings of grace through your prayers. I can never begin to express my gratitude to all of you.
We went to UW yesterday and overall, the visit went well. Dr. Nora is in agreement with the plan that the UW doctor came up with so we will be moving forward.
If any of you know the children's book 'WHERE'S WALDO" that pretty much sums up the plan. Dr. Al Niaimi would like to do an exploratory surgery first. He would take another biopsy, and get the results while I am in surgery to determine a course of action. The hope is that he would perform a complete hysterectomy and take out other visible tumors. He feels that taking a good look around to see where things are and how removable they are is more important than where they may have come from. He described it as more of an "all or none" procedure- meaning, they likely wouldn't do a partial surgery. If it does look like he can do the surgery then I will start chemo within 4-6 weeks post-op. If it does not look like a good option they will close me up, start chemo within a 2-3 day period then shrink the tumors and I will have the surgery down the road. I am asking for specific prayers that they can find WALDO and can do the surgery with this first attempt. The chemo is going to be very aggressive so I am also asking for prayer that I can tolerate the program. My surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday, June 13th.
I was reading a passage this morning from Exodus 14:10. Trapped against the sea the Israelite's faced the Egyptian army sweeping in for the kill. I feel this way with my cancer. However, I have decided to focus on God's faithfulness in the past which helps me to trust in Him with confidence rather than with fear. Moses encouraged the people to watch the wonderful way God would rescue them. So I am TRYING with all my might to adopt Moses' attitude when he say's "Do not be afraid stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will bring."
So look out Waldo

Mary you are the most faith-filled woman I know. I admire you for your love of the Lord and the way you have touched so many people with Christ's love. Carl and I have been praying for you daily and offering our Masses and Communions for your healing. I am available any time you need someone to sit with you or run errands, etc. Just a phone call away. You know that I love you and your family.
Extra prayers that you and your physicians are blessed with the graces you need during this journey. God bless you and your loved ones.
I'm confident the Good Lord knows you have more work to do -- helping others; encouraging others; being a shining example of what real faith is. God will hold you in the palm of His hand.
Happy Birthday cherished friend and beloved daughter of God! I thank God for the gift that you have been in our lives.
Your words make me think of the Quote..."The faithful things that I have seen of the Lord give me Faith for the things that I have yet to see..." I am so glad that you have invested in a long account of trusting in our Jesus because it would be hard to hear His voice and feel His comfort for the first time in the winds of this storm. We love you, honey, and are praying constantly for Jesus to flood you with His healing Grace, strength, and peace. xxoo Jeanne for Dave too.
Waldo cannot hide from God! We will pray God will send His angels down to guide the eyes and hands of the good doctor so he will find Waldo, Waldo’s sisters and brothers too! Love you, Mary. ❤️ Team Giovingo
